How to use the Reputation system?
Reputation scores should by no means be treated as law, they're an indicator as to what approach you should take with a username in combination with other factors.
Everyone starts at 0, so there are a lot of low scoring legitimate brand new users. People who top-up and use the site frequently with one account will gradually increase.
What abusers of service do like scammers, fake accounts or people seeking illegal activity is create an account, use top-ups, get banned and repeat the cycle.
If you recognize a username or a certain selfie and see it over and over, but it's score never increases, you can take this as a guarantee that username is not trustworthy, they keep getting banned and or deleted.
The same goes for a username that stands out to you, looks appealing but has a low score but you keep noticing it increasing, that is a good sign that it might be safe to interact with this username and take the next necessary steps to determine whether you can trust them.
Setting my personal threshold:
The following is a general idea of how to use the score system. Different people have different risk thresholds and have their own methods on determining who Is legitimate or fake.
Here is one way to approach it:
- 0 - Red - Never send a nude/payment or trust these accounts.
- 1 - Orange
- 2 - Yellow - Be extremely careful, require verification before transacting.
- 3 - Yellow
- 4 - Light Blue - Typically safe to trade and transact but be cautious.
- 5 - Dark Blue
- 6 - Light Green - Almost certainly a legit username.
- 7 - Light Green
- 8 - Dark Green - 99% a legitimate user or seller.
- 9 - Dark Green
- 10 - Dark Green - Super user!
Again you should never act solely on the example above, this is a general guideline that you should apply to your own parameters of how you determine the legitimacy of other usernames.
Why did we introduce this feature?
These are some of the behaviors the bad users of the internet employ, and unfortunately we're not immune to their presence on KikSexting:
- Stealing images to resell as themselves
- Download images from the internet and sell as themselves
- Scam users offering content, video chat then blocking after payment
- Obtaining your nude pictures, getting your social media accounts then threatening to sextort you to your family and friends.
All of the above is only possible with careless behavior, these are not skilled hackers, you have to make mistakes for them to be successful.
We're constantly tweaking our security and introducing features like the reputation scoring system to phase these people out. Before you ask yourselves "Why don't you just ban them?", don't be stupid. These are professional scammers, the majority of their success is their ability to exploit Google. If Google isn't capable of blocking them, how can you expect us to?
